Summer Baseball Plans

My name is Jason Reinsch, and I am fortunate enough to have recently been named the new
Head Baseball Coach at Reeds Spring School District for the 2021-22 school year. I wanted to
take a quick moment to introduce myself and share with you all my plans for the coming
summer. First and foremost, I have to tell you that I am extremely excited to be a wolf. I have
known Coach Funk and have considered him a friend for almost 20 years. The foundation that
he has built for this program is outstanding, and I look forward to having an opportunity to build
on his success.
I will immediately begin transitioning to Reeds Spring Schools upon the completion of this
school year and will be working with the other coaches throughout the summer for our strength
and conditioning program. This will provide a great opportunity for me to get to know all of you.
My hope is that there will be a large number of middle school players who are interested in
getting involved throughout the summer. This specific group should consist of those interested
players who are entering 7th or 8th grade.
As of now, the plan for the summer will consist of weights and conditioning throughout June and
early July. In addition, I will be scheduling 1-2 days a week (typically 2 days when possible) for
the middle school players (those entering 7th or 8th grade) to work on the field in the late
morning after weights and conditioning.
Lastly, I am also working with other local schools to schedule some doubleheaders throughout June and early July. My goal would be for us to have the opportunity to work out on the field 10-12 times and also play 6-7 doubleheaders (a total of 12-14 games). While this won’t be a lot of games, I am most excited about the workouts and what we can get done during those days.
I will be working on trying to finalize the schedule for the summer over the next few weeks as I
coordinate with the other sports and coaches. I want to ensure that our athletes have the
opportunity to participate in as many sports/activities as possible. My hope is to have a finalized
schedule and calendar, as well as a final cost, out by no later than mid-April.
For anyone interested in participating in middle school summer baseball, please email
me at no later than Friday, April 16. This will allow me to
determine our numbers and best accommodate for games and workouts. I look forward to
having the opportunity to meet each of you soon.
