Reeds Spring Middle School would like to recognize Mrs. Sheryl Cardenzana, who is retiring at the end of this school year. She has taught for 23 years and worked for our district for 16 years.
Mrs. Cardenzana is a passionate educator who loves engaging students in her content. She goes above and beyond to create an atmosphere that is fun for kids, often dressing up or having students sailing ships in a race. Her enthusiasm and spirit will be missed.
Coworkers say she is a phenomenal educator but an even better person. Every time you stepped into Mrs. Cardenzana's classroom you experienced an exciting adventure. We never knew where we were traveling, but when you arrived it was always amazing! Nobody brought geography to life better than she did. A fun time was had by all! She has worked tirelessly to serve the students of Reeds Spring Middle School and has helped kids experience cultures from all around the world without leaving Stone County.
Mrs. Cardenzana plans to spend her retirement binge-watching her favorite shows guilt-free, enjoying coffee and a good book each morning, spending time with her seven grandkids, and traveling. She is planning a trip to Italy and would like to visit every national park in the U.S.
"I am looking forward to getting to live on 'my time', planning and doing the things I chose, when I chose to do them!" Cardenzana said. "After seven years teaching in Shell Knob I got the chance to come home and have spent the last 16 years at RSMS. I quickly joined up with the original PLC team and sponsored the National Junior Honor Society taking many trips to Jefferson City. I took our History Day winners to MSU to compete there as well. I have been on many other committees that helped our school implement many wonderful new ideas, procedures, and programs. I have worked with five different principals who helped me be a better teacher. I taught 7th and 8th-grade science and social studies and a wonderful nature exploratory with the Department of Natural Resources that included many fishing trips to Roaring River. I have been truly blessed to have worked with such wonderful people from the office, kitchen, and maintenance staff to the paras, electives, and core teachers. There are so many friendships and memories I will always cherish."
Reeds Spring Schools thanks Mrs. Cardenzana for her passion and commitment to serving our students.
