Mr. Mark Settles Retiring at End of Year

Reeds Spring Middle School would like to recognize Mr. Mark Settles, who is retiring at the end of this school year. He has taught for more than 22 years and has worked for our district for all of those years.

Mr. Settles has proven himself as a dedicated and caring educator. He wants what is best for others and is always willing to lend a hand. He will be missed!

Coworkers say that Settles has a servant’s heart. He has been a great addition to the Reeds Spring family. He has always held students accountable for taking on responsibility and achieving high levels of success. Additionally, Mr. Settles has always been willing to step up and help others in any way possible. Last year, on the day before Thanksgiving Break, he helped a coworker fix a car issue.

Mr. Settles plans to spend his retirement working part-time, spending more time with family, and taking control of his garage.

"I have been very fortunate to have worked with so many outstanding people over the years here at Reeds Spring," said Mr. Settles. "Our district has been blessed with countless numbers of caring, professional people that are dedicated to the wellbeing and advancement of our youth. Reeds Spring has also provided a very positive experience for my own family. All three of our kids have received a quality education that will prepare them for the next level. This is a great community in which to live, with a school that sets the standard for excellence. I am grateful for all the friendships formed over the years, the many students that have gone on to success, and the opportunity to be a part of it all."

Reeds Spring Schools thanks Mr. Mark Settles for his passion and commitment to serving our students.
