I believe having technology in the classroom will allow every student the opportunity for success in life.
I will collaboratively develop curriculum incorporating technology with my team. I will provide enrichment and relearning opportunities that personalize instruction. I will engage students with exciting, informative lessons that bring history alive in the classroom.
My students will use technology as a tool to think and write like a historian and a geographer. They will be actively engaged using inquiry thinking to analyze content by debating issues, reenacting historical events and experiencing different cultures.
Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year!
I am teaching 7th grade social studies this year. Please create an account and use Canvas frequently to stay up to date on the latest topics, activities, upcoming projects and your child's grades and assignments.
A little bit about me....
This is my 15th year teaching at Reeds Spring Middle School. I previously taught social studies at Shell Knob for 7 years. I am a graduate of SUNY at Cobleskill in New York majoring in Horticulture. I earned my Bachelor of Science teaching degree from College of the Ozarks. I completed a certificate degree for Educational Technology from Missouri State University. I have a Master of Science degree from Drury University in middle school education. I have lived right here in Reeds Spring for the last 33 years raising my 5 children and now watching my 5 grandchildren grow up. I have traveled to Canada, Mexico and Europe and enjoy sharing my experiences with my social studies classes. Stop by and visit!
Keeping communication open between teachers and parents is one of the best ways to ensure student success. I will send frequent emails that will be filled with classroom happenings. I also want to hear from YOU! Let me know if you have questions, concerns or ideas to share. If you have contacts in the community that could help support our class learning let me know. Making real world connections are vital for our student’s success!
