Pedagogy Statement

I believe that students have incredible potential and creativity. Education is not just about informing and preparing students in learning, but empowering them to explore and challenge themselves to be intentional about success in their own life. The way I teach and lead in the classroom is centered on creating a culture of learning and engagement, particularly through technology.

With technology being an integral part of education, I will incorporate the use of laptops in teaching and engaging students in learning objectives. My goal is to model, challenge, and encourage students in using these “thinking/learning/doing” tools (i.e. laptops), and I am committed to an atmosphere that utilizes technology for student growth.

All students have the ability to research and discover new ideas and information that will help them succeed. My students will use technology to critically think about career paths that fit with their interests, and actively pursue information regarding their personalized occupation/career path. In helping students prepare for a satisfying career, I am motivated to coaching students in living life intentionally and becoming leaders and learners that take positive change to the world. I believe using tools such as laptops will effectively increase student’s desire to discover and implement their personal plan for success.
